The latest release of PlannerOne Resource Planner comes with a lot of new features and functionality. Unlike the Manufacturing version (Production Scheduler), Resource Planner is more of a “free-form” application that allows you to infinitely schedule your resources.
Typically when you are producing a job, you are going to want your tasks to stay in the order that you set them up. Along with that, you also want them to stay in this order after moving a task forward or backward on the schedule. Out of the box, Resource Planner does not do this and requires some additional setup by adding links to your tasks.
The following video demonstrates how to add what are called “Strict Links” to your tasks that link the Planning Lines from your job together.
Once you set these up, your tasks will all stay linked and in the order that you set them up in the event that you need to move one on the schedule. I think this is a great new feature that adds a lot of functionality to our scheduling solution for NAV Jobs.
