Reporting Options in NAV
ByWho writes reports at your office? Reporting is not something your NAV Consultant is required to you. You can do it! Reporting tools are available to every NAV End-Users, but that doesn’t mean the end-user has to learn how to use the tool.
What is available to end-users?

c. Pivotier – Tool to generate RDL Reports
d. Jet Reports – Tool to generate Excel Reports
e. Business Intelligence (Optional Tool Built in NAV)
f. Business Intelligence (Advanced 3rd Party offerings)
The key to successful roll out of any Reporting Tools falls squarely on the shoulders of the end-user. If you are a NAV End-User, then step up and learn the tools. Actually, learn the tool, singular. Management should select the desired level of reporting needed, and then the staff needs to learn to fully utilize that tool.
Most Reporting Vendors offer class. Take the class! For some of the advanced reporting tools it might be as much as 5 days of class, but the results will be dramatic. You should no longer have to rely on a NAV consultant to create your reports, you know your company the best and the data that is desired on the reports.
