Quality Control Roadmap

Quality Control is one of our most used add-ons that we offer at Cost Control Software.  The increase in the number of customers that are purchasing Quality Control is largely due to the fact that it is fully integrated into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and is a simple and straightforward app that requires minimal set up and training time, so customers can start using the software in days instead of weeks.

Below is a quick overview of some of the top features of Quality Control:

  • Define Quality Requirements by item, Variant and Location
  • Automatically block Serial or Lot Number until Quality Test is certified
  • In-process testing allows testing as part of an operation within a Production Routing.

We are always looking to improve our products and the feedback we get from our customers is invaluable. They use the software every day and their suggestions on how to improve the usability and functionality of the product are crucial to us making the best Quality Control add-on on the market. We took the most requested features and have added them to our roadmap.

The following features will soon be available for Quality Control:

  • Management of test tools and equipment
Tools that are used to perform a Quality Test can be managed right within Quality Control. A tool can be assigned to a Specification and Test and it can be tracked how many tests a tool performed and when it needs to be calibrated.
  • Rule based sampling
With the rule-based sampling, only a certain number or percentage of items will require quality testing. For example, when an item is purchased the first time, it might need to be tested. Or out of 10 units, only 2 need to be tested.
  • Create transfer and return orders
After a Quality Test failed, the failed item might either be transferred to a different Location or returned to the supplier. Soon it will be possible to generate these documents directly from a Quality Test.
  • Destructive testing
The new feature for destructive testing will “destroy” or remove a certain quantity from inventory as part of the testing process. That means, during the testing process, a negative inventory adjustment will be posted directly from the Quality Test.
